Hermosa is an exhibition created to celebrate women’s month by artists Pat Abella, Nicole Soltes, Mimi Sarmiento, and myself. I painted this series with freedom as my concept. That women, when allowed to be their best selves, without inhibitions and expectations from society, could make changes that would benefit humanity.
As for the technique, I experimented using gold leaf and resin to glaze the artworks. This was a labor intensive experiment since it consists of four separate processes which includes mounting the watercolor paper on wood, painting, gilding, and resin finish.
